Aishwarya Raut


Aishwarya Raut is a Mumbai-born dance artist trained in India and the UK, holding an MA in Professional Dance Performance. She works internationally as a performer, choreographer, and actor, and is a former company dancer with Rambert, Akram Khan Company, and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. 

Her work spans theatre, site-specific performance, and screen, performing works by leading contemporary choreographers including Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, Ben Duke, Alexander Ekman, Akram Khan, Ohad Naharin, Wim Vandekeybus, Merce Cunningham, Wayne McGregor, Rafael Bonachela, Alonzo King, Jill Johnson, Marion Motin, Botis Seva, Imre and Marne Van Opstal, David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, Jo Strømgren, and Benoît Swan Pouffer.

Alongside her stage work, she has collaborated on projects with LaHorde, Hannes Langolf, Marcelino Sambe, Studio Will Dutta and James Cousins, and worked with artists including Laura Mvula, FKA twigs, Ed Sheeran, and Lykke Li, as well as brands such as Valentino, Hermès, Slam Jam, Longchamp, and On Running. Her film credits include ‘Kaifiyat’ (2019) by Elroy Pinto and ‘Goldfish’ (2022) by Charlotte Edmonds. 

Since beginning her choreographic practice in 2024, Aishwarya's work has been presented across the UK, France, Norway, Italy, and India, including commissions and presentations for Rambert x National Theatre, the Ce qui se trame exhibition by Mobilier National, Panta Rei Danseteatre, Company Equilibrio Dinamico, Totally Thames Festival, Resolution Festival, Emergence Dance, and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

She has been featured in Dance MagazineHomegrown Magazine, and Nowness, and received nominations at the UK National Dance Awards for Best Female Dancer (2024) and Outstanding Female Modern Performance (2025). She was also named one of Bachtrack’s 10 Rising Stars in Dance and Choreography for 2024/2025.
