Maya Carroll
Maya trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First Class BPA (Hons) degree in 2018. In 2019 she joined Verve, the postgraduate performance company at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she toured works by Ben Wright, Maxine Doyle, Joan Clevillé and Noa Zuk. Maya graduated from Verve with a Distinction and was also awarded the ‘Overall Achievement in Professional Practice Award’ for her year in the company. As a professional, Maya has collaborated with an eclectic mix of creatives including Extended Play Dance, Ruby Portus, Matthew Robinson, Richard Chappell and Liam Francis among others.
She has also worked as a movement director for Andrea Heaton, as a collaborator for Emma Critchley’s Soundings project and as a guest dancer for National Dance Company Wales’ PULSE|PWYLS tour in 2023 and 2024.
Maya first worked with Ben Duke as a teenager, when she was a member of Shift Youth Dance Company at The Place. She joined Lost Dog in September 2022, for the creation and performances of 'Ruination' at the Royal Opera House.
